About the position

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will leverage your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. Your role will involve collaborating with stakeholders to define project requirements, identify potential risks, manage project timelines, and effectively communicate with cross-functional partners throughout the organization. You will be equally adept at presenting your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are at discussing technical trade-offs in product development with engineers. Your responsibilities will include managing projects of varying sizes and scopes, identifying future opportunities for improvement, and driving the technical direction of the programs. You will be part of a team that is dedicated to the long-term evolution and optimization of network infrastructure, enabling the scalable deployment of machines across Google's technical infrastructure. This involves planning requirements and guiding projects through their entire life-cycle, ensuring that all aspects are aligned with the overall goals of the organization. In this role, you will also influence the development of new products and manage transitions in the cluster networking space. You will provide technical guidance across the organization, particularly in understanding how new products and processes will impact the network. Your work will be crucial in ensuring that Google's product portfolio remains robust and efficient, ultimately enhancing the user experience across all platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to plan requirements and identify risks.
  • Manage project schedules and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners.
  • Drive process improvements in coordination with internal engineering resources.
  • Provide technical guidance regarding the impact of new products and processes on the network.
  • Enable the delivery of cluster networking and define policies and tooling requirements.
  • Influence the development of new products and upcoming transitions in the cluster networking space.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience managing projects.
  • Experience with network capacity planning.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with deployment planning.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Experience with data center networking.
