About the position

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will leverage your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to plan project requirements, identify potential risks, manage project schedules, and maintain clear communication with cross-functional partners throughout the organization. You will be responsible for explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives, as well as discussing technical trade-offs in product development with engineers. Your work will support the fundamental program and provide engineering support to assist with automation, reporting, dashboard creation, and other code-focused activities. In this position, you will create and maintain dashboards for tracking project velocity, utilizing internal tools to streamline processes through coding. You will also be tasked with planning, tracking, executing, and reporting on project timelines and milestones across multiple programs. Your role will require you to drive and monitor progress, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure successful project outcomes. Additionally, you will identify and address gaps in Real Time Communication (RTC) and cross-functional processes that hinder efficiency and scalability. Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to plan project requirements and identify risks.
  • Manage project schedules and communicate with cross-functional partners.

  • Utilize internal tools to streamline processes via code.

  • Identify and drive resolution of Real Time Communication (RTC) and cross-functional process gaps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in managing projects.
  • 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
  • 1 year of experience with data analytics, reporting, scripting using SQL or similar technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years of experience in managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with software development.
  • Ability to manage priorities, escalate, resolve roadblocks, conflicts and facilitate projects across a distributed team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to represent and prepare executive level communication and articulate business or technical concepts to executive leadership.
