About the position

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will leverage your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to plan project requirements, identify potential risks, manage project schedules, and maintain clear communication with cross-functional partners throughout the organization. You will be responsible for explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives while also engaging in technical discussions with engineering leads to resolve issues and drive project success. Your work will directly contribute to the development and scaling of innovative features that enhance user experiences across platforms such as web, Android, and TV. The YouTube OTT Engineering team is focused on advancing the delivery of premium live and on-demand video content. This includes implementing cutting-edge features and infrastructure while prioritizing quality and reliability. As a Technical Program Manager, you will help organize the development of these features, ensuring they meet user needs and align with program goals. You will also monitor key metrics related to program performance, identify deviations, and define corrective actions to ensure project success. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand and identify defined work problems and program goals.
  • Obtain prioritized deliverables and discuss program impact with relevant stakeholders.
  • Prioritize program goals and translate stakeholders' needs into actionable deliverables with minimal assistance.
  • Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, and manage project plans for supported programs.
  • Review key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations.
  • Identify, communicate, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders within one or more teams to drive impact and work toward mutual goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management in software engineering/development and infrastructure projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • 2 years of experience with web, Android, and TV development environments and release processes.
  • Experience driving technical discussions and resolving technical issues with Engineering leads.
  • Excellent communication skills.
