About the position

The Technical Program Manager III at Amazon Robotics will be a key member of the Hardware Engineering team, focusing on the design and support of next-generation robotic systems. This role involves managing the full project lifecycle of innovative programs aimed at enhancing the efficiency and reducing costs in Amazon's fulfillment and logistics operations. The TPM will act as a liaison among various engineering and operational teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to meet project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the effective and efficient delivery of Hardware Product Development programs and projects, working closely with mechanical, electrical, and embedded systems teams.
  • Interact with Deployment Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Support Services, and other key stakeholders to define and deliver project goals to improve performance, reduce cost, and reduce installation cycle time.
  • Work cross-functionally to support solution development and integration, particularly with hardware/software integration.
  • Triage, prioritize, and execute against incoming requests from the field for Hardware engineering support.
  • Drive consensus on technical decisions and ensure the appropriate resources are employed to deliver high-quality results.
  • Lead the partnership between hardware engineering, product management, and systems engineering to develop and decompose comprehensive functional requirements.
  • Identify, assess, track, and mitigate issues and risks at the program level.
  • Create, maintain, and disseminate project information to stakeholders.
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
  • Develop and drive hardware project schedules.
  • Drive programs across all HW disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Safety, Regulatory, HW Test Engineering.
  • Partner with groups external to Hardware Engineering to successfully deliver on project goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in hardware development across full product life cycles for concept development to manufacturing.
  • 5+ years of experience managing scope, schedule, and resources across multiple cross-functional hardware engineering teams.
  • Track record of managing cross-functional technology, product management, reliability, regulatory, and testing teams to deliver complex products under tight time constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver multiple hardware projects at different complexity levels in parallel.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize a variety of project management tools, methodologies, and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to develop Gantt Charts & identify project critical path.
  • Experience developing and executing against project schedules.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced matrix technical organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
