About the position

As a Technical Program Manager III in Data Sustainability Engineering at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects aimed at supporting Google's sustainability commitments. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to plan project requirements, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of project outcomes. You will leverage your technical expertise to build data engineering pipelines and analytic solutions that enhance sustainability efforts across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish.
  • Work with stakeholders to plan requirements and identify risks.
  • Manage project schedules and communicate with cross-functional partners.
  • Conduct analyses including data gathering, exploratory data analysis, and solution development.
  • Partner with engineering teams to identify data sources and develop data integrations and reporting solutions.
  • Define project scope and manage project plans for supported programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience building data engineering pipelines and analytic solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience working in sustainability, environmental science, or related fields.
  • Experience with software development and managing execution of programs across multiple engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of statistical languages or packages (e.g., R, MATLAB, NumPy/SciPy in Python).
  • Knowledge of creating independent data marts.
