As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. Google Distributed Cloud Hosted (GDCH) is designed as a converged hardware/software solution for customers who want the benefits of Google Cloud on premises. GDCH will include dedicated hardware (e.g., rack, network switch, servers, storage), operating system, selected first-party GCP services. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Own and drive programs across multiple Google teams, lead cross-functional teams, and manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Own the status of projects/programs, drive visibility on progress, dependencies, risks, issues to executives and other stakeholders, manage communication of progress/status with customer groups, and own relationships between cross-functional teams.
  • Help the team improve and accelerate execution.
  • Build partnerships across Google and leverage credibility to drive process improvements and efficiencies that lead to better quality and increased velocity/productivity.
  • Engage with the product management and engineering leaders to streamline processes, simplify execution, and bring tooling efficiencies when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience with cloud regulatory compliance frameworks and controls such as: SOC 2/3, ISO 27000 series, PCI DSS, HIPAA, FedRAMP, GDPR, and regulations governing personally identifiable information.
  • Experience deploying enterprise scale services on cloud infrastructures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • 5 years of experience managing technically-challenging projects spanning a wide set of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of FEDRamp processes.
  • Ability to learn and understand the technical context of programs and to contribute to technical discussions that affect programs.
  • Ability to manage scripting/tool development.
