About the position

The Technical Infra Program Manager will support the Global Network Deployment (GND) organization at AWS, focusing on capital management and budgeting for cabling installation in global data centers. This role involves leading the annual budgeting process, developing CapEx forecasting models, and driving cost control initiatives to optimize cabling infrastructure investments while balancing operational needs with financial efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting process for global data center cabling projects, ensuring comprehensive coverage and alignment with organizational goals
  • Collaborate closely with operational and finance stakeholders to create, refine, and maintain accurate CapEx forecasting models
  • Implement robust cost control measures, including conducting monthly reviews of financial and operating metrics, analyzing variances against forecasts, and effectively communicating key drivers to senior management
  • Drive critical analytical projects that provide valuable insights and inform decision-making at the senior leadership level
  • Proactively identify cost-saving opportunities and drive initiatives to execute plans for reducing expenses across cabling operations
  • Enhance and expand metrics decks, incorporating relevant KPIs focused on cost improvement and efficiency identification
  • Manage funding appropriation requests for cabling projects, ensuring proper justification and alignment with budgetary constraints
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in CapEx management, data center cabling, and financial modeling to continuously improve processes and methodologies

Requirements

  • 6+ years of advanced proficiency in Excel, including PowerQuery, and SQL skills for data analysis and financial modeling
  • 6+ years of participating in continuous cost improvement projects to scale and improve cost controllership
  • 6+ years of defining and tracking cost performance metrics and leading monthly cost reporting
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Engineering or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the data center industry and understanding of DC network infrastructure
  • MBA degree
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as QuickSight or Tableau
  • Knowledge of Visual Basic
