About the position

The Technical Program Manager IV (Hardware Product Development) plays a crucial role in the successful definition, implementation, and delivery of complex programs that necessitate cross-functional collaboration and interdependencies across various projects and related activities. This position is primarily focused on delivering programs within the constraints of scope, quality, time, and budget, while managing multiple moderate-probability, moderate-impact risk factors. The role requires strategic program-level planning and interaction with executive-level management, as well as the ability to resolve complex issues effectively. Excellent communication and team-building skills are essential for success in this position. In this role, the Technical Program Manager will oversee a group of internal exempt and matrixed employees and contractors who contribute to the project(s). Responsibilities include defining and managing project scope, gathering and documenting requirements, estimating time, developing and tracking project schedules, managing project budgets, reporting project status, and handling issues and risks. The manager will also be responsible for contingency planning, customer interaction, and maintaining communications across multiple organizational levels to ensure that systems and enhancements meet specified requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong project estimating, scheduling, and tracking skills, along with proven people management and team-building capabilities. They should demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in exercising judgment in a changing environment and managing competing priorities. A strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications and business functions is crucial, as is experience in delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment. Familiarity with the software development lifecycle is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver programs within the constraints of scope, quality, time, and budget.
  • Engage in program-level strategic planning and interact with executive-level management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field required.
  • MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
  • PMP or PMI certification is required.
  • Proven people management and team-building skills.
  • Strong project estimating, scheduling, and tracking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment.
  • Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and work well with business partners at different levels.
  • Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications and business functions.
  • Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment.
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle.
