About the position

Our product engineering team explores, develops, and delivers new cutting-edge technologies of AR & MR products. We are focused on integrating and launching new technologies from early concept to launch while iterating, prototyping, and realizing the human value and new experiences they open up. As a Technical Program Manager for MR Product Design Engineering, you will partner with Product Design Engineering to enable the definition and execution of next-generation hardware programs. You will create development, delivery, and qualification schedules based on system requirements, technical challenges, lead-times, and business needs. Your role will involve managing communication within and between internal cross-functional teams and external partners, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle. In this position, you will develop milestone schedules, communicate program statuses, and identify/address potential setbacks. You will work cross-functionally to develop best practices and technology development processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment to ensure on-time delivery. Additionally, you will manage the delivery of hardware for development builds and ensure qualification to meet mass production timelines. Your responsibilities will also include coordinating and driving engineering deliverables, including specifications, DOE, and validation plans, while ensuring that program documents are complete, current, and available for staff and leadership review. You will contribute to resource planning to ensure program success and objectives are met, making this a critical role in our product development process.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering field or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience working as a technology development program manager for consumer electronics
  • Experience in ODM/JDM/CM vendor engagement models
  • Knowledge of phase gate approach to technology development projects
  • Experience with mechanical system development, design for manufacturing, tooling, validation and characterization processes
  • Communication, planning skills, and attention-to-detail
  • Knowledge of program and issue tracking and version control software
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams and projects
  • Experience maintaining a positive view, be a source of team morale, composed and effective in a fast-paced dynamic environment

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years experience working as a technology development program manager for consumer electronics
  • 2+ years experience working in a mechanical engineering field preferred
  • Experience in first party product development, defining requirements and program constraints, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders
