About the position

Fibertek, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Technical Program Manager to lead a team of specialized experts in the development of advanced laser transmitter subsystems, lidar systems, and space-based communications systems. This role is pivotal in interfacing with customers to develop system design concepts that align with program objectives. The Technical Program Manager will oversee multiple concurrent projects, which will vary in scope from small, quick-turn projects to larger, long-term initiatives. In this position, you will be responsible for establishing key performance parameters for systems and ensuring that requirements are effectively communicated and flowed down to subsystems. You will lead engineering and manufacturing teams through the complete development cycle of active electro-optic systems, ensuring that all aspects of the project are managed efficiently. Additionally, you will assign tasks to program team members, set priorities, and communicate program goals clearly. Keeping senior management informed about the status of projects, including any technical, programmatic, or workforce issues, will also be a critical part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of experts in the development of laser transmitter subsystems, lidar systems, and space-based communications systems.
  • Interface with customers to develop system design concepts that meet program objectives.
  • Establish system key performance parameters and ensure requirements flow-down to subsystems.
  • Lead engineering and manufacturing teams through the end-to-end development of active electro-optic systems.
  • Assign tasks to program team members and set/communicate program priorities and goals.
  • Keep senior management appraised of status/issues related to technical, programmatic, and workforce matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; Master's degree in engineering preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of design, build, and test experience in relevant fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years of program management experience with electro-optic or laser systems.
  • Experience in systems engineering.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Excellent customer interfacing skills.
  • US citizenship required.
