About the position

The Technical Program Manager at PlayStation will play a crucial role in collaborating with multi-functional teams to define project roadmaps, capture requirements, and lead execution towards achieving desired outcomes. This position emphasizes teamwork across global Quality Engineering (QE) teams, fostering an environment of growth, autonomy, and innovation while addressing gaps and improving QE functions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with feature teams and QE members across various global locations to identify needs and build detailed plans.
  • Lead all aspects of progress and provide technical guidance as the primary liaison between QE teams and leadership.
  • Act as the main point of contact for various programs aimed at improving the efficiency of QE activities.
  • Assist in aligning the organization with industry-standard QE practices, including test automation and third-party tools.
  • Facilitate teamwork and bridge efforts across multiple geographical locations.

Requirements

  • Understanding of SDLC processes such as Agile, Waterfall, and similar development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of software design, testing, and deployment.
  • Familiarity with CI infrastructure and cloud technologies, including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, virtual machines, and VM host management.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage with diverse customers and partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate conflicts and build relationships in multi-functional and multicultural environments.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills in sophisticated and ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and manage numerous projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • PMI/PMP certification or relevant project management/QE process certifications.
  • Experience with graphics and/or audio technologies.
  • Understanding of SDK libraries, APIs, and middleware functionality.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio, CMake, or other compilers/development environments.
  • Knowledge of source code control systems, build systems, toolchains, automation, and related DevOps systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., C+/C) or scripting languages (e.g., Python, shell script, batch, Groovy).
  • Curiosity about gaming, digital entertainment, or consumer electronics.
  • Japanese language skills are a plus.
