About the position

The Technical Project Manager 3 at Navarro Research and Engineering will oversee and ensure the timely completion of technical and operational projects for the Los Alamos National Laboratory. This role involves establishing project requirements, defining deliverables, managing schedules, and communicating risks. The position requires a strong focus on project oversight, including the development and evaluation of program policies and procedures, as well as providing technical advice to various stakeholders. The role is remote with occasional travel for onboarding and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Manage and ensure the timely completion of discrete technical or operational projects.
• Establish technical requirements for projects and define project deliverables.
• Communicate project schedules and risks to stakeholders.
• Oversee projects from planning through execution to completion.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of program policies and procedures.
• Determine program enhancements and provide technical advice to staff and other departments.
• Perform management assessments and causal analysis related to project performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 8 years in the Department of Energy, with 5 years supporting a Category II Nuclear Facility.
• Experience in Corrective Action Management and supporting event investigations.
• Documented experience in management assessments, causal analysis, and development of Performance Assurance metrics.
• Ability to plan, organize, lead, and monitor team efforts to completion.
• Experience in developing and nurturing effective high-level internal and/or external customer relationships.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with DevonWay software is preferred.
