About the position

The Technical Project Manager 3 is responsible for managing and ensuring the timely completion of discrete technical or operational projects at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). This role involves establishing technical requirements, defining project deliverables and schedules, communicating risks, and overseeing projects from initiation to completion. The TPM 3 will also contribute to the development and evaluation of program policies and provide technical advice to staff and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Manage and ensure the timely completion of discrete technical or operational projects.
• Establish technical requirements for the project.
• Define project deliverables and schedules.
• Communicate risks associated with the project.
• Oversee the project from planning, tracking, and execution.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of program policies, procedures, and standards.
• Determine program enhancements.
• Provide technical advice to staff and other departments.
• Perform management assessments and causal analysis.
• Track and trend Performance Assurance data and develop Performance Assurance metrics.
• Prepare and deliver performance status communications to all levels of management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of eight years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience supporting a Cat II Nuclear Facility.
• Prior DOE experience supporting D&D, environmental restoration, and 413.3B construction projects.
• Experience in developing and nurturing effective high-level internal and/or external customer relationships.
• Documented experience performing management assessments and causal analysis.
• Ability to plan, organize, lead, and monitor a variety of team efforts.
