About the position

The Technical Project Manager 3 (TPM 3) is responsible for managing and ensuring the timely completion of technical or operational projects. This role involves establishing technical requirements, defining project deliverables, schedules, and communicating risks. The TPM 3 oversees projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that they meet customer requirements and programmatic needs. The position also includes contributing to the development and evaluation of program policies and providing technical advice to staff and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Manage and ensure timely completion of discrete technical or operational projects.
• Establish technical requirements for projects and define project deliverables and schedules.
• Communicate risks associated with projects and oversee their execution from initiation to completion.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of program policies, procedures, and standards.
• Determine program enhancements and provide technical advice to staff and other departments.
• Perform management assessments, causal analysis, and track Performance Assurance data.
• Develop Performance Assurance metrics and prepare performance status communications for management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least eight years of experience in the Department of Energy (DOE) sector.
• Five years of experience supporting a Category II Nuclear Facility.
• Documented experience in management assessments and causal analysis.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior DOE experience supporting Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) and environmental restoration projects.
• Experience in developing and nurturing effective high-level internal and/or external customer relationships.
