About the position

KeyLogic is continuously looking for Technical Project Managers to work for The Chief Digital and AI Office (CDAO). This division aims to establish the strategy, best practices, architectures, and tools to ensure that the DoD has reliable, ethical, and trusted AI-enabled systems. The Technical Project Manager will facilitate the management of multiple responsible AI projects in stages ranging from initiation to deployment, enabling understanding of project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including researchers, engineers, data scientists, and ethics and policy experts, to define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria. The Technical Project Manager will develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocations, actively monitoring progress against key milestones. Identifying and forecasting risks, issues, and dependencies is crucial, as is proactively communicating with stakeholders to address challenges and ensure project success. The role also involves implementing robust knowledge management solutions, including document repositories, wikis, and collaboration tools, to facilitate the capture, organization, and dissemination of project-related information and insights. Establishing and enforcing best practices for documentation, version control, and knowledge sharing across project teams is essential. Fostering a culture of continuous improvement by soliciting feedback from project teams and stakeholders, and leveraging lessons learned to refine project management processes and methodologies is a key responsibility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for responsible AI and a commitment to promoting ethical and transparent practices in AI development and deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the management of multiple responsible AI projects from initiation to deployment.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Develops comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocations, monitoring progress against key milestones.
  • Identifies and forecasts risks, issues, and dependencies, proactively communicating with stakeholders to address challenges.
  • Implements knowledge management solutions, including document repositories and collaboration tools.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing complex projects, preferably in AI, machine learning, or software development.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience implementing knowledge management solutions, including document management systems and collaboration platforms.
  • Familiarity with agile and traditional project management methodologies, as well as tools like Jira or Microsoft Project.
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; PMP certification is a plus.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
