About the position

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) for Avionics Hardware at Butler America Aerospace is responsible for leading a mechanical engineering team focused on the analysis and redesign of Head Up Guidance Systems cast aluminum chassis components. The role involves project coordination, schedule creation, task assignment, and ensuring project execution aligns with cost and milestone performance in a regulated avionics environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a mechanical engineering team in the analysis and redesign of cast aluminum chassis components.
  • Manage program activities for a mechanical engineering sustainment team.
  • Coordinate assignments and activities for technical review of incoming vendor hardware in a regulated avionics environment.
  • Create, execute, and track program schedules.
  • Work with a multidiscipline team to coordinate engineering priorities.
  • Present project status and team progress during leadership reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering preferred; equivalent STEM degree considered with applicable experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in project management and/or engineering lead roles.
  • Experience with mechanical drawing GD&T is a plus.
  • Mechanical design background is a plus.
  • Experience working in a quality-controlled environment is a plus.
