About the position

The Technical Project Manager (Costing) at Molex is responsible for managing and optimizing the costs associated with flexible circuit technology projects. This role involves consolidating information related to product costs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring accurate costing for both prototype and high-volume production. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders and support business development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Capture and consolidate information related to all contributions to the cost of a product.
  • Optimize costs for materials, labor, capital equipment, and factory equipment usage.
  • Understand process flow related to manufacturing electronic assemblies.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members effectively.
  • Communicate with manufacturing team members to discuss methodologies affecting cost.
  • Work closely with Business Development and Sales Engineers to respond to Requests for Quotation.
  • Summarize costing information to assist in winning new business opportunities.
  • Document assumptions and establish part costs for different production volumes.
  • Analyze costs of capital equipment and amortize over part costs.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills for interacting with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Experience in influencing decision-making processes.
  • Ability to manage and consolidate large amounts of information.
  • Understanding of DFM concepts and ability to break down customer information for process development.
  • Aptitude for learning about manufacturing equipment and materials used in flexible electronics.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and Bills of Material (BOM).
  • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD viewing software, such as AutoCAD and NX.
  • Proficient in Excel, including formulas, references, and pivot tables.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
