About the position

The position involves planning, directing, and coordinating projects from initiation through implementation, leading cross-functional teams, and translating business requirements into technology solutions. The role requires managing project costs, resources, and risks while ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating projects from initiation through to implementation.
  • Leads cross-functional project teams and works with product owners to determine and translate business requirements into technology solutions.
  • Manages project costs, resources, change requests, risks, and issues to ensure maximum business benefit is maintained.
  • Provides regular project status updates to stakeholders.
  • Develops high-level project plans and ensures that the scope and approach are fully understood by all stakeholders.
  • Maintains a dependency plan between planned sprints or waterfall projects across engineering, infrastructure, and third parties.
  • Organizes and facilitates daily stand-ups and retrospectives for Agile projects, creating a learning environment for the team.
  • Engages with Product Owner, Business Stakeholders, and delivery team to understand business needs and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Performs hands-on reviews of product backlog, designs, code, test scripts, and results to address delivery impediments or product quality issues.
  • Tracks and communicates team velocity, financial, and other KPIs in relation to the plan and published progress reports.
  • Coordinates communications, escalates, and facilitates resolution of risks, issues, and changes tied to product development initiatives.
  • Facilitates discussions and looks for continuous improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of technical delivery experience with a demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility and driving larger complex programs with dependencies across waterfall and Agile workstreams.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage multiple stakeholders; prior people management experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience with design and coding in Database Platforms/applications, such as DB2, Oracle, Mainframe, and BI database tools.
  • Experience facilitating Agile, Scrum, or other rapid application development teams to deliver technology solutions on time, on budget, and to specification.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • PMI Certification preferred.
