About the position

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading internal IT Applications and some Operational Technology (OT) projects across various domains including end-user computing, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and networking. This role encompasses the entire project lifecycle, ensuring that projects align with the business strategies and objectives of the organization. The Technical Project Manager will utilize their leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, driving projects to successful completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in developing comprehensive project plans, overseeing execution, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. This includes presenting weekly updates to IT leadership to track progress and ensure that objectives are met. The role requires a proactive approach to managing project risks and addressing issues as they arise, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle. In this position, the Technical Project Manager will work onsite in Denver, CO, 3-4 days a week, and will report directly to the Director of IT PMO. The role is a direct hire, full-time opportunity, and candidates must be local to the Denver area.

Responsibilities

  • Lead internal IT Applications and some OT projects through the project lifecycle.
  • Align projects with business strategies and objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and oversee execution.
  • Present weekly updates to IT leadership regarding project status and objectives.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and vendor management effectively.
  • Assess and mitigate project risks in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to ensure project success.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of technical project management experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies and industry best practices.
  • Proficient in Smartsheet or MS Project.
  • Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines.
  • Good stakeholder management and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP certification is a plus, but not required.
