About the position

DTS is an award-winning electronics manufacturing company located in Seal Beach, CA, seeking a Project Manager with 2-3 years of experience in project management. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full life cycle of projects, from requirements gathering through new product introduction (NPI) and into production. This role involves establishing a comprehensive understanding of project requirements and coordinating regular project meetings with relevant team members and stakeholders across various engineering disciplines. The Project Manager will proactively review and communicate project status regarding cost, schedule, performance, issues, and risks, while also developing action plans to mitigate any identified issues and risks. The Project Manager will regularly review Gantt charts and collaborate with team members to update tasks accordingly. This position requires coordination with firmware, software, mechanical, quality, technicians, planners, and other engineering resources to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for test (DFT). The Project Manager will also synchronize the procurement or allocation of tools and resources to ensure project success, monitor timelines and target dates, and remove roadblocks for team members. Maintaining up-to-date project documentation, including PDS, Gantt charts, specifications, and NPI checklists, is also a critical responsibility of this role. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Responsibilities

  • Establish a full and complete understanding of project requirements.
  • Manage the full life cycle of projects from requirements through NPI and into production.
  • Coordinate and host regular project meetings with relevant team members and stakeholders.
  • Proactively review and communicate project status in terms of cost, schedule, performance, issues, and risks.
  • Review Gantt charts regularly and collaborate with team members to update tasks accordingly.
  • Coordinate with firmware, software, mechanical, quality, technicians, planners, and other engineering resources to ensure DFM and DFT.
  • Synchronize the procurement or allocation of tools and resources to ensure project success.
  • Monitor timelines and target dates in Microsoft Project and related tools.
  • Remove roadblocks from team members and work with business development to drive projects forward.
  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation including PDS, Gantt charts, specs, and NPI checklists.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 2-3 years of experience in project management or engineering management role.
  • New product development experience is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) process is preferred.
  • Ability to adhere to existing schedule templates using industry standard milestones such as PDR, CDR.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set goals and priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using MS Project, Windows 7/8/10, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, reasoning, inter-personal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management software other than MS Project.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.
