About the position

@Orchard is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead and coordinate technical projects within our organization. As a Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, managing tasks and resources, scheduling, reporting to the federal Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), and monitoring issues and risks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, possess a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and demonstrate the ability to deliver successful technical projects in a federal environment. In this role, you will plan and manage technical projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. You will develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and oversee the execution of project tasks. Coordinating and allocating resources efficiently to meet project milestones and deadlines will be a key part of your responsibilities. Regular communication with the federal Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) will be essential to provide updates on project status, progress, and deliverables. You will monitor and report project performance against established metrics, identifying and addressing any deviations from the plan. Identifying, assessing, and managing project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed, will also be part of your duties. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle. You will foster a positive and collaborative project team environment, promoting accountability and transparency. Conducting regular project reviews and evaluations to ensure compliance with project objectives and client requirements will be necessary. Additionally, you will facilitate post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future project execution. This position requires a proactive approach to managing projects and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager in a federal environment.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and team members.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining project documentation, including project plans, risk registers, and status reports.
  • Proficiency in project management software and collaboration tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
