About the position

The Senior Project Manager will focus on the strategic implementation of new technology solutions and support existing ones. This role involves close collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure projects are executed within scope, budget, and schedule. The position is open to fully remote candidates residing in the US, with an initial contract through the end of the fiscal year, anticipated to be renewed in July.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and monitor the work produced by the team(s).
• Manage stakeholder relationships, including ongoing communications and negotiation of scope and schedule changes.
• Identify and manage key risks and issues, providing resolutions as necessary.
• Shape client expectations and manage project scope, risk, and budget.
• Execute projects within the defined scope, budget, and schedule.
• Oversee user acceptance testing and provide test cases/test scenarios for UAT.

Requirements

• 8-10 years of job-related experience.
• Effective analytical and presentation skills.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to tailor communication to different audiences.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with both functional area experts and technical team members.
• Demonstrated experience using JIRA and other project management tools.
• Experience as both a Project Manager and Business Analyst on the same project is strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Agile Software Development Lifecycle Process, including incremental/iterative and Waterfall methods.
• Ability to manage work on multiple projects with competing priorities.
• Experience working with web application development teams using technologies such as Java and Drupal.
• Project Management certification (PMP) preferred.

• Experience working in research/educational institutions or small IT companies.
