About the position

The Technical Project Manager for the Generative AI Enterprise Enablement team at American Express will lead project delivery and collaborate with various technical and non-technical teams to implement Generative AI solutions at scale. This role requires a strategic partner who can define requirements, manage project backlogs, and ensure alignment with enterprise goals while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain key relationships with enablement partners to identify and manage dependencies.
• Supervise project results and achievements through teamwork, planning, coordination, and leadership.
• Identify and address delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes related to enterprise enablement initiatives.
• Ensure alignment of team outputs with desired outcomes.
• Maintain the backlog and ensure user stories/features align with enterprise enablement outcomes.
• Implement agile methodologies in a dynamic development environment.
• Support Program Managers and Product Owners in identifying technical problems and devising solutions.
• Participate in retrospectives to carry forward lessons learned in development activities.
• Foster a culture of accountability and teamwork by collaborating with relevant teams.
• Review and demonstrate sprint-related achievements with product owners and partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in technical project management.
• Knowledge of software and infrastructure design principles.
• Experience managing Agile, Scrum, or fast application development teams.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business teams.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Experience using Jira or Rally is a plus.
• PMI and/or Scrum Master Certification.

• Experience with Generative AI technologies.
• Familiarity with financial services industry standards.
