About the position

The Technical Project Manager at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for leading the core team in managing the sustaining engineering project funnel for Microbiology hardware. This role involves overseeing complex design change projects from feasibility to field implementation, balancing project management and engineering activities. The position is integral to the Hardware & Systems Engineering team and requires collaboration with various departments to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cross-functional team for prioritizing and managing the backlog of the hardware sustaining engineering project funnel.
• Act as the project manager on complex projects involving external suppliers, procurement, manufacturing, product marketing, quality, regulatory, and service.
• Manage budgets, schedules, resources, project risks, and key project deliverables.
• Provide regular updates to the leadership team on the health of the funnel and status of projects.
• Lead some relatively simple re-design projects to stay connected to your engineering background.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics, or related engineering with preference for 9+ years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in the field with preference for 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in design, development, and sustaining of complex hardware instruments.
• Experience in managing projects in a regulated environment.
• Experience in projects demonstrating critical business acumen.
• Experience in PCB schematic, layout, component selection, cabling, and assembly design.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in Microbiology or Automated Diagnostic Product Development.
• Danaher Business System/Lean/Kaizen expertise.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP).
• Experience working with internal and external R&D teams.
• Visual project management.
