About the position

The Technical Project Manager for HRIS projects will play a crucial role in supporting the People Technology team by managing various projects aimed at enhancing functionality within key HRIS systems such as SuccessFactors, Workforce Software, and Opentext. This position requires a dynamic and experienced individual who possesses a strong background in managing complex technical projects, particularly in the realm of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of HRIS solutions that align with the strategic goals of the HR department. In this role, the Project Manager will develop and manage detailed project plans that encompass scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation. They will coordinate and lead cross-functional project teams to ensure that HRIS solutions are delivered on time and within budget. Identifying project risks and developing mitigation strategies will be essential to address potential issues that may arise during the project lifecycle. Stakeholder management is a key component of this position, as the Project Manager will gather and document project requirements from stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals. Regular communication regarding project status, progress, and changes will be necessary to keep all stakeholders informed and engaged. The role also involves driving and supporting the implementation of new HRIS solutions, which includes system configuration, data migration, and integration with existing systems. The Project Manager will work closely with technical teams to ensure seamless integration and data accuracy, as well as develop and execute testing plans to ensure that HRIS solutions meet both functional and technical requirements. Identifying and resolving issues or discrepancies during the testing phase will also be part of the responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management with a focus on HRIS or related systems.
  • Proven experience managing complex technical projects and working with HR departments.
  • Strong understanding of HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, ADP), project management tools (e.g., Jira), and basic knowledge of databases and integration technologies.
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, manage competing priorities, and drive project success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing project challenges.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
