About the position

The Technical Project Manager I or II at TxDOT's Pharr District is responsible for overseeing and executing construction projects within the Roma Area Office. This role emphasizes project management, including timelines, budgets, and quality assurance, while also focusing on mentorship and training for future leaders in the field. The position requires extensive interaction with various stakeholders and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage project timelines, budgets, and quality for construction projects.
• Provide mentorship and on-the-job training to junior staff.
• Consult with Project Engineers and contractors on work progress and construction issues.
• Direct and evaluate projects using accepted project management methodologies.
• Inspect construction methods and workmanship to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Compile and distribute project information and status reports.
• Monitor and manage project quality to ensure deliverables meet contract specifications.
• Create documentation procedures for changes in project plans.
• Oversee project assignments and coordinate scheduling for ongoing projects.
• Train professional and technical staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of experience for Technical Project Manager I; 6 years for Technical Project Manager II in construction project management or related fields.
• Valid US driver's license.
