About the position

The Technical Project Manager II - CoMET at Raba Kistner Consultants Inc. is responsible for managing construction materials testing projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion within budget. This role involves coordinating field observations, analyzing engineering data, and preparing reports while mentoring and training staff. The position emphasizes the efficient use of resources and adherence to safety protocols, contributing to the company's mission of building a sustainable world.

Responsibilities

  • Manage construction materials testing (CoMET) projects from start to finish.
  • Coordinate and participate in field observations and testing activities.
  • Analyze field data and laboratory test results, providing recommendations for client reports.
  • Prepare and submit engineering reports for review and co-signature.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff and technicians in laboratory and field operations.
  • Serve as a company representative in client interactions and professional organizations.
  • Prepare proposals and assist in business development efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs and company policies.
  • Review and approve pre-bill invoices for CoMET projects.
  • Achieve chargeability goals and manage client invoicing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Science, or related field from an ABET accredited institution.
  • 3-5 years of Project Management experience.
  • Professional Engineering license in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Valid driver's license and meet auto insurability requirements.
  • Strong project management skills and experience in leading teams.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical and construction materials testing procedures.
  • Ability to draft technical reports and proposals.
  • Excellent math and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ASTM, TxDOT, AASTHO, USACE testing procedures.
  • Familiarity with construction plans and specifications.
  • Previous experience in a consulting environment.
