About the position

The Technical Project Manager II-Design Section at TxDOT's Corpus Christi District is responsible for overseeing advanced engineering and architectural projects. This role involves planning, controlling, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws while maintaining project integrity. The position requires extensive interaction with agency management and external stakeholders, and it includes leadership responsibilities for project teams. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment, utilizing the latest design software to produce Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for various infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and performs advanced engineering and architectural project management work.
• Provides leadership and oversight for architectural or engineering construction projects.
• Plans and controls all elements of the project to ensure compliance with relevant laws and policies.
• Responsible for quality assurance and quality control aspects of technical projects.
• Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity and client satisfaction goals.
• Monitors project phasing and traffic control plans to ensure safety standards are met.
• Coordinates project assignments and scheduling to accommodate ongoing projects.
• Assists in data collection, inspections, and analysis for plan development.
• Trains professional and technical staff.
• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
• 6 years of experience in construction project management or related fields.
• Valid driver's license required for driving a state vehicle.
• Safety Impact Certificate.
