As part of a passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for providing cost estimates for parts and assemblies in your area of expertise across all Blue Origin space programs. Your efforts will directly inform design-for-manufacture analysis, design-to-cost targets, and supplier negotiations. You will be supporting cost reduction initiatives across the company. Responsibilities

  • Provide cost estimates for parts and assemblies across all Blue Origin space programs.
  • Inform design-for-manufacture analysis and design-to-cost targets.
  • Support supplier negotiations and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Apply technical expertise and leadership skills to enhance quality and safety in human spaceflight.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of direct experience estimating aerospace components such as machined parts, castings, forgings, sheet metal, formed parts, tubes, composites, AM parts, assemblies, avionics, harnesses, PCBA, and batteries.
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and ability to evaluate and analyze associated costs based on part drawings.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in providing Design for Manufacturability feedback for engineering and supporting supplier negotiations.
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships while contributing to a culture of inclusion.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within a geographically dispersed organization.
  • Attention to detail and high quality of deliverables.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10+ years of estimating components for the Aerospace or Space industry.
  • Experience developing and utilizing complex estimating software tools and methods.
  • aPriori experience is a plus.
  • Experience with aerospace procurement, government compliance, and quality systems.
