About the position

The Technical Project Manager III at Blue Origin plays a pivotal role in integrating advanced production technologies within the aerospace manufacturing sector. This position is essential for enhancing manufacturing autonomy, maintaining technological leadership, and strengthening supply chain resilience. The role involves leading cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery while aligning with the company's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the creation of a strategic roadmap for integrating advanced production technologies.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and R&D, to achieve project milestones.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize emerging production technologies critical to aerospace manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, suppliers, and internal teams to promote vertically integrated solutions.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with integrating new technologies.
  • Supervise the improvement and streamlining of manufacturing processes for enhanced efficiency and quality.
  • Manage project budgets and monitor financial performance to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement to enhance operational effectiveness and manufacturing flexibility.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field; a master's degree or MBA is preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in project management within aerospace, manufacturing, or high-tech industries.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale projects involving advanced production technologies.
  • Strong understanding of advanced manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics.
  • Exceptional leadership skills to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated competence in financial management and overseeing large budgets.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additive manufacturing and advanced composites.
  • Familiarity with automation and precision machining technologies.
