About the position

The Technical Project Manager for MDA Space Systems plays a crucial role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This position is based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, and is integral to managing all program management aspects necessary to fully integrate the Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture platform into the MDA Mission Defense System. The successful candidate will oversee project scope, schedule, and financial commitments, ensuring alignment with contract goals while collaborating with various stakeholders. In this role, the Technical Project Manager will proactively plan and schedule project deliverables using established earned value tool sets. They will be responsible for managing expectations, resolving issues and conflicts, and building mitigation plans to ensure project success. The position also involves supporting event management and critical asset processes, authoring and delivering proposals, status reports, and executive-level presentations. The candidate will drive projects to completion while integrating matrixed resources, demonstrating cognitive ownership of project deliverables, and partnering with matrixed resources to meet customer expectations. The work environment combines scalable, flexible, virtualized infrastructure with physical hardware, providing essential data transport, storage, processing, and cyber-services to support MDA Space Systems' research, development, test, and evaluation (RTD&E) and future missions. The selected candidate may also be assigned as an employee for one of Jacobs' teammate companies, emphasizing the collaborative nature of the work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all program management aspects to integrate the Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture platform into the MDA Mission Defense System.
  • Oversee project scope, schedule, and financial commitments in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Proactively plan and schedule project deliverables using earned value tool sets.
  • Manage expectations, resolve issues and conflicts, and build mitigation plans.

  • Supervise a team to achieve project goals.

Requirements

  • Must have a combination of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 12 years of general experience; Associate's degree and 10 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree and 8 years of general experience; Master's degree and 6 years of general experience.
  • 7 years of experience in project/portfolio resource planning, reporting, prioritization, and budgeting.
  • 3 years of experience in management or leadership roles.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management and Cost Account Manager (CAM).
  • Technical IT experience is required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and MS Project scheduling software.
  • Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
