About the position

The Technical Project Manager for MDA Space Systems supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This role is pivotal in managing all program management aspects to fully integrate the Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture platform into the MDA Mission Defense System. The candidate will confidently oversee and lead project scope success, schedule, and financial commitments supporting contract goals in collaboration with all stakeholders. Proactive planning and scheduling of project deliverables using established earned value tool sets is essential. The Technical Project Manager will manage expectations, resolve issues and conflicts, and build mitigation plans while supporting event management and critical asset processes. Additionally, the role involves authoring and delivering proposals, status reports, and executive-level presentations, ensuring successful project completion while integrating matrixed resources. The candidate will have cognitive ownership of their project deliverables and partner with matrixed resources to deliver results according to customer expectations. Direct supervision of a team to achieve these goals is also a key responsibility. The work operates within a combination of scalable, flexible, virtualized infrastructure and physical hardware, providing data transport, storage, processing, and cyber-services to support the MDA Space Systems' RTD&E and future missions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all program management aspects to fully integrate the Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture platform into the MDA Mission Defense System.
  • Oversee and lead project scope success, schedule, and financial commitments supporting contract goals in collaboration with all stakeholders.
  • Proactively plan and schedule project deliverables using established earned value tool sets.
  • Manage expectations, resolve issues and conflicts, and build mitigation plans.
  • Support event management and critical asset processes.
  • Author and deliver proposals, status reports, and executive level presentations.
  • Drive projects to completion while integrating matrixed resources.
  • Supervise a team to achieve project goals.

Requirements

  • Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 12 years of general experience; Associate's degree and 10 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree and 8 years of general experience; Master's degree and 6 years of general experience.
  • Must have 7 years of experience in project/portfolio resource planning, reporting, prioritization, and budgeting.
  • Experience leading projects and programs within and outside space command and control programs, as well as projects and programs that involved external providers.
  • Must have 3 years of experience working in management or leadership roles.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management and Cost Account Manager (CAM).
  • Technical IT experience is required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and MS Project scheduling software.
  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
