About the position

Butterball, LLC, one of America’s most iconic brands, is seeking an Information Technology Intern to provide a comprehensive experience through various projects that support our business within the IT department. This internship is designed to allow the intern to work collaboratively with multiple Butterball business partners and the IT team to optimize and improve project management processes in-house. The position is hybrid, allowing for up to 20 hours of work per week, with the possibility of starting earlier based on availability. The intern will quickly learn and work within the processes defined in the Butterball IT management system, utilizing project management methodology and project planning tools. The intern will support IT project management for cross-functional projects at one or multiple Butterball facilities. Responsibilities include detecting, analyzing, and implementing process improvements to solve technical problems and deficiencies, as well as assisting in managing and maintaining the IT project portfolio database. The intern will apply systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications. Additionally, the intern will work with the finance department to identify preferred methods for measuring, reporting, and analyzing project value, such as EBITDA and ROI. Developing methods for financial project tracking and resource balancing models to report and assess project constraints will also be part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Support IT project management for cross-functional projects at one or multiple Butterball facilities.
  • Detect, analyze, and implement process improvements to solve technical problems and deficiencies.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining the IT project portfolio database.
  • Application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications.
  • Work with the finance department to identify the preferred methods for measuring, reporting, and analyzing project value (EBITDA, ROI, etc.).
  • Develop methods for financial project tracking of projects in the IT project portfolio.
  • Develop resource balancing models to report and assess project constraints.

Requirements

  • Seeking a Bachelor of Science/Arts degree in Business, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Agribusiness or a similar field.
  • Create and maintain technical/process documentation related to user or system design specifications.
  • Ability to work with the customer in difficult situations by balancing technical knowledge and people skills.
  • Strong business acumen - ability to understand the impact of IT on different parts of the business.
  • Prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong collaborative nature.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Windows OS/365, Networking, and Project Management Systems (ex. Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, etc.).
  • Currently local to the Garner, North Carolina area.
