About the position

SLAIT Consulting is seeking a Technical Project Manager to oversee and ensure the successful completion of projects for their client in Newport News, VA. The role involves managing project scope, timelines, and deliverables while leading project teams and maintaining effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the successful completion of assigned projects
• Ensure that project team members are aware of project milestones and deliverables
• Manage the scope of the projects
• Resolve any issues that may hinder project success
• Execute/implement the appropriate communications plan
• Ensure adherence to appropriate processes and methodologies
• Maintain project documentation and metrics as defined in the Ferguson Project Methodology
• Effectively lead the project team, maintaining good morale
• Manage appropriate levels of risk and budget reporting and tracking
• Assist Senior IT Program Manager in collective project tracking
• Build and lead effective project teams from assigned resources

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years related work experience
• Minimum of 5 years project management or leadership experience
• BA or BS degree preferred
• High proficiency with Office Software
• Familiar with Project Management Software and Methodologies
• Good understanding of FEI and its business operations/practices
• Strong PC skills
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated expertise in leadership and management skills
• Demonstrated expertise in project management processes and methodologies
• Possess good, general business and technical knowledge
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of associates
• Proactive approach on the job
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to maintain balance between strategic vision and tactical execution
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Able to manage multiple priorities
• Team player within the PM group and with the project team
• Conflict resolution/mediation experience
