The position involves project ownership of a multi-year program aimed at bringing transformative laser technology to market. This includes managing the schedule, scope, cost, and quality of the project. The role requires synthesizing product and technology requirements from marketing and customer inputs through design trades, analysis, and laboratory verification. The candidate will manage design trades between various technical and non-technical requirements to provide direction to the larger New Product Introduction (NPI) program. Collaboration with teams across optical, electronic, software, reliability, applications, marketing, and research is essential to breathe life into emerging advanced technologies and products. The role also involves structuring efforts to define, design, and test various technology elements, including motion control, laser control, sensors, and actuators. Additionally, the candidate will drive documentation of system blocks, interfaces, specifications, I/O, and hardware/software compatibility, plan product testing activities to verify functionality and specifications, and improve workflows, optimization methods, and risk management tools to enhance development efficiency. Finally, the candidate will help drive the development of the required advanced laser technologies.
