About the position

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a Technical Project Manager to oversee engineering development projects, ensuring that all engineering activities are coordinated effectively. This role involves managing projects related to feasibility studies, offer preparations, Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) development, and aircraft retrofits or completions within the Airbus Helicopters North America (AHNA) framework. The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all engineering data and documents are developed and released in accordance with the performance levels established by the program agreements, the design office business plan, and the overarching policies of the Airbus Helicopter Group. The focus will be on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The position is based onsite in Grand Prairie, TX, where the team of engineers engages in the entire lifecycle of aircraft, from product development to manufacturing and customer support. The Technical Project Manager will face challenges such as managing complex engineering project executions, ensuring that projects remain on schedule and within budget, and coordinating with the engineering management team to secure necessary resources. The role also requires the development of detailed project schedules, monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs), and risk management throughout the project lifecycle. In this role, the Technical Project Manager will participate in planning engineering demands and resources, ensuring that deliverables align with configuration management and system engineering processes. Responsibilities

  • Manage complex engineering project execution within the scope of Airbus Design Delegation.
  • Deliver feasibility studies, offers, or technical data & solutions within agreed time frames, performance, quality, and costs.
  • Manage evaluation, presentation, and arbitration of different technical solutions during project phases.
  • Ensure assigned engineering projects remain on time and on budget, developing recovery plans as needed.
  • Coordinate with the engineering management team to obtain and manage required project engineering resources.
  • Define, implement, and monitor detailed development logic/schedule with associated deliverables and target dates.
  • Ensure coordination of multiple concurrent projects and set priorities as needed.
  • Participate in planning of engineering demand and resources in line with activity forecasts from various customers.
  • Monitor project KPIs and manage risks and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical degree or relevant experience.
  • 7 years of experience in engineering project management or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing complex engineering projects.
  • Directly related work experience in aviation completions or STC development projects (FAA governed).
  • Experience with Airbus Helicopters models, configuration, and/or STCs.
