About the position

Exsento is hiring a Technical Project Manager for the Marine Waterparks Division, where you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing projects in the marine industry. This position is crucial for ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions within the scope, schedule, budget, and logistics of all shipboard and land-based projects. You will work closely with the Water Park Division General Manager (GM) to develop project surveys and manage assignments effectively. As a Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the Water Park division's service and dry-dock project management. This includes managing a project team consisting of project managers, leads, contractors, and vendors to ensure that contracted projects are completed professionally, safely, and economically. You will estimate project scopes of work and budgets, develop materials lists in collaboration with subject matter experts, and coordinate logistics for the crew assigned to all projects. Your role will also involve purchasing project materials in collaboration with the GM and purchasing teams, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project expectations. You will identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies while maintaining good working relationships with employees, clients, internal contractors, and vendors to meet project requirements. Monitoring project progress and performance, conducting regular project meetings, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety requirements will be key aspects of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will manage project documentation, including plans, schedules, budgets, and reports, and conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement. This position requires a self-starter who can maintain project workflow and adapt to changing project requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Water Park division in service and Dry-dock project management.
  • Manage a project team (PM's, Leads, contractors & vendors) assignments and management as required to complete contracted projects.
  • Estimate project scope of work and budgets, develop project materials lists, and coordinate logistics for crew assigned to all projects.
  • Work closely with the GM and purchasing teams to purchase project materials and ensure accuracy and management per project expectations.
  • Ensure project completion as outlined in work scopes and directed by the Water Park Division General Manager.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate and maintain good working relationships with employees, clients, internal contractors, and vendors to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, taking corrective action as necessary to meet project objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, providing guidance and support to project team members.
  • Provide general project management and organization.
  • Conduct regular project meetings, provide status updates to stakeholders, and communicate any issues or problems to GM or Director.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Manage project documentation, including plans, schedules, budgets, and reports.
  • Maintain working knowledge of cruise line project shipping guidelines.
  • Prioritize important tasks and solve basic problems that may arise on the job.
  • Work as a self-starter to maintain project workflow.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • PMP training/certificate is a plus.
  • Proficient in project management software programs such as Mondays, Procor, Microsoft, AutoCAD, and blueprint reading knowledge.
  • Proven track record of successful project management in the marine industry, demonstrating the ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong technical background in marine engineering or related disciplines, with a thorough understanding of industry practices and standards.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs and maintain overall physical health.
  • Self-educate related to the technical department and its relation to assigned projects.
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays as needed to meet project requirements.
  • Ability to travel 25% to 50% of the time globally (Estimate 150+ days/year).
  • Maintain essential documents in good standing, including passport, driver's license, TWIC, vaccine card, etc.
  • Self-sufficient in case of emergency when traveling.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and Portuguese is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, port operations, and industry best practices.
  • Cruise industry knowledge is a plus.
