About the position

The Technical Project Manager for Metal ALD New Product Transitions at Applied Materials plays a crucial role in supporting the transition of new products within the ALD business unit. This position involves collaboration with various engineering and management teams to ensure successful product development, manufacturing strategy, and quality assurance. The role requires a strong understanding of project management principles and the semiconductor industry, particularly in the areas of FEP, ALD, and EPI tools.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the release of product improvements and new products with other engineering functions.
  • Launch, release, approve, and implement engineering change requests to support design engineering and operations.
  • Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and recommend tooling and process requirements.
  • Develop test procedures and assist in defining test specifications with design/software engineering.
  • Work with Central Test Engineering and other teams on the design and development of test fixtures.
  • Gather operational and test data, evaluate results, and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Evaluate work methods and test procedures to continuously improve performance and reduce manufacturing cycle time.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Experience team to determine root causes of non-conformances and drive corrective actions into test processes.
  • Support new product transitions by developing test strategies and determining required tooling and test fixtures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 4 - 7 years of experience in project management within the semiconductor industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management and basic knowledge of capital equipment for the semiconductor industry.
  • Ability to learn new skills and apply them to solve manufacturing problems.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate solutions using standard procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Deeper knowledge of FEP, ALD, and EPI tools.
  • Experience with statistical process control and continuous improvement methodologies.
