About the position

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for the successful and timely delivery of infrastructure and software engineering solutions. This role involves leading and managing multiple large, cross-functional, and highly complex projects while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The individual must possess technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong interpersonal skills to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and adapting to shifting project requirements.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks associated with projects, including people dependency, hardware disruptions, security, and compliance.
  • Ensuring the reliability and performance of the projects by setting up proper testing phases and checkpoints throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Providing stakeholders with periodic updates on project progress and clearly communicating timelines, status, issue resolutions, and any potential disruptions.
  • Planning for user training and preparing the organization for adopting the new systems or services.
  • Ensuring all project documentation is up to date to ease user support and implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 3+ years Project Management experience managing projects for software engineering and/or infrastructure teams.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification a plus.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies like Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • General understanding of I.T. infrastructure and concepts related to systems, networking, virtualization, cloud technologies (AWS/Azure), data storage, databases, data lake/warehouse, and datacenter operations.
  • Adept in use of project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, Azure DevOps) for tracking projects, people, and process.
  • Budget management skills, including cost estimation, financial tracking, and reporting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge or experience with HIPAA / HITECH / HITRUST is a plus.
