About the position

HRL is seeking candidates for a Project Manager position supporting existing programs in spin qubit development. The successful candidate will join an ambitious and multi-disciplinary team executing challenging technical projects in the development of quantum technology. In this position, the candidate will lead planning and scheduling efforts within the project in coordination with subject matter experts, communicate those plans to other leads, and work with HRL line management to secure resources. The candidate will leverage previous experience developing quantum hardware or advanced semiconductor device hardware to facilitate productive interactions with subject matter experts and customers. The role requires the development, maintenance, and revision of research and development project plans and schedules. Regular presentations of project plans and status in meetings, along with responding to inquiries from company executives and customers, are essential components of this role. Documentation of status and plans in regular program reports is also required. Utilizing knowledge of quantum computing hardware or semiconductor device technology will be crucial to support program efforts and advance spin qubit technology. The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background, with an MS or PhD in electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, or a related field, and more than 10 years of experience subsequent to graduate education. Previous technical experience with quantum technology or semiconductor technology is required, and candidates with project management experience in government contract research and development environments are preferred.
