About the position

HRL is seeking a Project Manager to support existing programs in spin qubit development. The successful candidate will lead planning and scheduling efforts within the project, coordinating with subject matter experts and HRL line management to secure resources. This role involves leveraging experience in quantum hardware or advanced semiconductor device hardware to facilitate interactions with experts and customers, ultimately advancing quantum technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and revise research and development project plans and schedules.
• Communicate plans and schedules to company and customer interfaces and managers, solicit buy-in, and re-plan if necessary.
• Work with line managers to secure sufficient staffing and tool resources.
• Collaborate with technical leads to understand project status, risk, and opportunities, revising project plans and schedules as needed.
• Present project plan and status in regular meetings, responding to company executives and customer inquiries.
• Document status and plans in regular program reports.
• Utilize knowledge of quantum computing hardware or semiconductor device technology to support program efforts and spin qubit technology advancement.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in electrical engineering, physics, applied physics or related field with more than 10 years of experience subsequent to graduate education.
• Previous technical experience with quantum technology or semiconductor technology is required.
• Project management experience in government contract research and development environments is preferred.
