About the position

The Technical Project Manager for SAP Cloud at Santander Holdings USA, Inc. is responsible for managing and implementing both internal and external IT projects or programs that have a defined start and end. This role involves leading team members from various job families through a structured project life cycle, ensuring that all project activities are planned, developed, coordinated, and executed effectively. The Project Manager will oversee all phases of the project, including project planning, execution, communication, financial management, and issues/risk mitigation. They will allocate, obtain, and manage resources and project management tools to achieve project objectives, while also creating and implementing assessment processes to ensure timely completion of projects in accordance with established standards and requirements. In this role, the Project Manager will develop detailed project plans and schedules for application and infrastructure projects, collaborating closely with business analysts, developers, and quality assurance teams to execute the project successfully. They will manage the entire project lifecycle from initiation through to program closure, addressing and resolving risks, issues, and dependencies as they arise. The Project Manager will provide direction and guidance for a wide array of activities associated with project planning and management, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to client specifications. This includes overseeing project reporting, planning, issue/risk identification and tracking, scope management, estimation, client management, relationship management, and the preparation of other project documentation for projects of high business complexity. The Project Manager will also monitor project results for significant deviations and work collaboratively with Information Technology functions to address incidents and high-priority defects. Regular contact with clients is essential, as the Project Manager will coordinate and report on project progress and accomplishments, ensuring transparency and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develops detailed project plans and schedules for application/infrastructure projects.
  • Manages the project lifecycle from initiation through to program closure.
  • Manages and resolves risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Leads and provides direction and guidance for project planning and management activities.
  • Ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to client specifications.
  • Oversees end-to-end project management activities including reporting, planning, and documentation preparation.
  • Monitors project results for significant deviations and collaborates with IT functions to address incidents and defects.
  • Maintains regular contact with clients and coordinates project progress reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Business Administration, management information systems, computer science, or equivalent.
  • 4-10 years of experience in technology or financial services industry is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of implementing SAP Cloud/No Cloud solutions and analyzing business processes.
  • Experience customizing SAP functionality in components such as FI-AP, FI-AA, CO, BCS, MM, PS, SAP Ariba, and SAP Analytics Cloud.
  • SAP S/4HANA experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of SDLC, including Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and communicate technical designs and project status.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing, high-volume, mission-critical applications is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project commitments and lead project resources effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
