About the position

The position at Blue Origin involves applying technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure the safe and timely delivery of software products for the Lunar Permanence organization. The role is crucial in supporting the mission of enabling human spaceflight and developing systems that will facilitate permanent human presence on the Moon. The candidate will work closely with NASA and other partners, focusing on project management, coordination, and quality assurance in software development.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust plans of product deliveries and lead tracking of key operating metrics - including technical, cost, schedule, and risk.
• Identify and define problem statements and build realistic project schedules, managing assigned budgets and purchasing authority.
• Work with technical leads to define program scope and create program plans.
• Collaborate with program management toward long-range objectives and resolve technical objectives of assignments.
• Provide regular status updates and work to resolve project discrepancies (schedule, budget, resources, etc.).
• Engage with developers on significant issues to report to senior leadership.
• Own the technical success of product development in partnership with Responsible Engineers (RE) and Team Leads.
• Help run contracts and produce statements of work.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in project management or related field.
• Technical expertise in software development and project delivery.
• Strong leadership skills and commitment to quality and safety in human spaceflight.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with NASA or in the aerospace industry.
• Familiarity with ITAR regulations and compliance.
