About the position

This role is with a government client, requiring a security clearance, and offers competitive compensation dependent on experience. The Technical Product Manager (TPM) will be a crucial member of the development team for our client's Supply Chain Application module suite. The TPM will be responsible for leading module development, conducting discovery sessions with customers, and guiding a team of developers. This position requires a strong understanding of software development processes and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. In this role, you will conduct discovery sessions with customers to gather and analyze their requirements. You will be responsible for documenting these requirements and producing design documents, participating in reviews to ensure alignment with customer needs. Additionally, you will create project plans and may also be involved in writing code to support the development process. As a leader, you will guide and mentor developers, helping them to grow their skills and ensuring that project execution aligns with established strategies. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with Quality Assurance (QA), TechOps, and Production Support teams to ensure that the final product meets quality standards and is delivered on time. Your strong analytical and problem-solving skills will be essential in navigating the complexities of software development and ensuring successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct discovery sessions with customers to gather requirements.
  • Analyze and document customer requirements for the Supply Chain Application module.
  • Produce design documents and participate in design reviews.
  • Create project plans and write code as necessary.
  • Guide and mentor developers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review test strategies and manage project execution effectively.
  • Collaborate with QA, TechOps, and Production Support teams to ensure quality delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years in software development experience.
  • 2-3 years of team leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Java, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), data structures, and algorithms.
  • Knowledge of J2EE components, XML, and relational databases (preferably Oracle).
  • Experience with SOAP, REST, JMS, and EDI.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Systems implementation skills.
  • Experience with enterprise software vendors and supply chain knowledge is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience.
