About the position

The Technical Project Manager V role at BCforward is a contract position focused on leading and managing technical projects within a remote environment. The position requires a highly motivated individual with extensive experience in software engineering and team management. The primary responsibilities include coordinating the adoption of technical products, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. The role also involves mentoring team members and ensuring alignment with business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with a team of software engineers to manage technical projects.
  • Build and improve products in collaboration with product engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Communicate strategic information to the team and influence product development.
  • Design and implement end-to-end systems and launch strategies.
  • Provide insights on products and technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
  • Make program and project decisions in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Utilize technical and soft skills to build relationships and resolve complex needs.
  • Guide workflow changes and gain consensus from stakeholders.
  • Set clear expectations and goals for team members and manage performance.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assist in planning, execution, and monitoring of projects.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues in projects.
  • Analyze existing processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Supervise and mentor team members to ensure they have necessary skills.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years managing a team of engineers.
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience designing and building scalable software applications.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Objective-C, PHP, C/C++, Ruby, C#.
  • Experience in identifying and executing product improvements across teams.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in growing teams and designing organizations for impact.
  • Fluency in English.
