The Technical Project Manager for Website and Database at the University of California, Berkeley, will play a pivotal role in the complete redesign of the bampfa.org website and the development of a new Content Management System (CMS) for the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA). This part-time, contract position requires collaboration with a core project team, external vendors, and key stakeholders across the institution. The successful candidate will manage the project from inception to completion, ensuring that the new website and CMS meet the needs of both internal and external users. The project manager will oversee the gathering of data regarding institutional needs, conduct vendor and market research, and draft a Request for Proposal (RFP) to facilitate the selection of an appropriate vendor for the website rebuild. The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for setting and managing project deadlines, communicating with stakeholders, tracking budgets, and providing technical consultation throughout all stages of the project. This includes the transition from the current platform, potentially from Drupal to WordPress, and the implementation of a CMS that will house BAMPFA's upcoming and historical events, programs, and exhibitions. The position requires a strong understanding of web best practices, project management skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders. The role reports directly to the Director of Administration & Strategic Initiatives and is integral to ensuring a smooth transition to the new website and CMS, ultimately enhancing the digital presence of BAMPFA.
