About the position

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading cloud and infrastructure projects from ideation through completion. This role involves managing project timelines, budgets, and resources while ensuring successful migration of workloads to public cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. The project manager acts as a liaison between upper management and project teams, ensuring that projects meet their objectives and are completed on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the objectives and expected outcomes of the project.
  • Create timelines and determine costs and resources needed, performing ROI analysis and building business cases.
  • Generate a detailed plan and schedule for each stage of the project.
  • Provide direction and coaching on project-specific tasks.
  • Select supporting staff and lead a project team.
  • Negotiate with contractors and suppliers for materials and/or services.
  • Ensure that each stage is progressing on time, on budget, and to the company's quality standards.
  • Develop and implement processes for PM teams to complete activities according to current policies and practices.
  • Report project progress to senior managers and stakeholders.
  • Manage project plans and provide regular reports on project progress, financial performance, and resource usage.
  • Ensure compliance with internal/external standards and readiness for audits.
  • Manage project risks, issues, and activity progress to achieve project goals.
  • Coordinate activities and tasks among project team members to meet project goals.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Proactively track and manage changes in project scope and devise contingency plans.
  • Manage procurements required to support the project.
  • Coordinate project execution with global teams.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of overall experience, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Project Management.
  • Strong background in Infrastructure/Software project management, preferably with cloud experience.
  • Exceptional English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in project-planning tools like MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Smartsheet, and ServiceNow.
  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills in environments without direct control over resources.
  • Expertise in setting and managing customer expectations.
  • Sound understanding of financial concepts like Capex, Opex, ROI, Amortization, and Depreciation, with the ability to develop and track budgets and financials.
  • Ability to create comprehensive project documentation including Project Charter, Success Criteria, Requirements/Scope documentation, Project Plan, Lessons Learned, Risk Register, Change Log, and Communication Plan.
  • Conceptual understanding of cloud services such as VM/EC2 Instances, Storage, Databases, DevSecOps tools, Containers, CDN, IoT, Networking, Security, DR solutions, and App Services.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or MS degree (preferred).
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, Agile Certified Practitioner, or Certified Scrum Master.
