About the position

The Technical Project Manager at Digital Science will play a crucial role in managing technical projects that drive significant research investments. This position involves overseeing project delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction, and aligning technical teams with project goals. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders and a deep understanding of the science and technology ecosystem to effectively support clients in their research funding decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee technical projects across functions and product divisions to ensure timely completion within scope and budget.
  • Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, including risk mitigation and budget estimations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Develop and maintain thorough project documentation that communicates expectations to the technical team.
  • Help clients reach their goals through implementation, configuration, and support for Dimensions tools and services.
  • Support customers in the responsible use of data for decision-making regarding funding.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources for high-quality project delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years project management experience in an IT/software related field delivering configured COTS products.
  • Understanding of the Science & Technology ecosystem, including scientific research funding and bibliometrics.
  • Experience managing technical teams delivering complex projects that evolve over time.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong attention to scope, deadlines, and budgetary guidelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and create priorities effectively.
  • Distinct problem-solving aptitude and solid organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current US Public Trust clearance preferred.
  • Experience working globally and across multiple teams.
