About the position

As a Technical Project Manager at Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), you will play a pivotal role in our Project Management team, which is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to the agreed-upon scope, deadline, and budget. This position is integral to our efforts in delivering business insurance, employee health & benefits, retirement, and private client insurance solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders to define project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include coordinating the efforts of colleagues across various teams to ensure that projects are delivered according to plan. In your role, you will define project scope, success criteria, and deliverables that align with business goals, collaborating with senior management and stakeholders. Effective communication will be key, as you will need to convey project expectations to team members and stakeholders clearly and promptly. You will be responsible for planning and scheduling project timelines and milestones, utilizing the required toolset to track progress and deliverables. Additionally, you will determine the frequency and content of status reports, analyze results, troubleshoot problem areas, and communicate findings accordingly. Your responsibilities will also include identifying, documenting, and tracking risks and issues, conducting project reviews, and providing recommendations for future improvements. You will employ best practices and tools for project execution while continuously seeking opportunities for improvement. The ideal candidate will possess an inquisitive mind, be highly organized, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. You will work with and influence a wide range of cross-functional teams and leaders, showcasing strong organizational skills and a quick adaptability to new systems.

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, success criteria, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using required tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables effectively.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team.
  • Analyze project results, troubleshoot problem areas, and communicate findings.
  • Identify, document, and track risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct project reviews with recommendations for future improvements.
  • Utilize best practices and tools for project execution while seeking improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in technical project management at varying levels of complexity.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive status reports.
  • Hands-on experience with various project methodologies, including both Agile and Waterfall.
  • Skills with MS Office Products including Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Enterprise Project and Portfolio Management tools, such as Planview Portfolios.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management certifications (such as PMP) preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in project management.
  • Experience managing Salesforce projects.
  • Salesforce certifications.
  • Insurance or Financial Industry experience.
