About the position

The Technical Project Manager will oversee infrastructure service solutions for a major financial client in Charlotte, NC. This role involves managing multiple projects related to network, midrange server, storage, and capacity planning, ensuring effective delivery of Pre-Prod and Production environments. The position requires strong project management skills, particularly in large-scale infrastructure, and the ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management oversight for infrastructure service solutions including network, midrange server, storage, capacity planning, and monitoring.
  • Perform capital forecasting, planning, and procurement for infrastructure products and services.
  • Provide technology estimates for resources and capital supporting client initiatives.
  • Manage WBS, milestones, status reporting, and risks/issue management and mitigation.
  • Coordinate with design teams, build teams, application teams, and Network Services for new technology solutions.
  • Understand customers' tactical goals and participate in the development and implementation of business solutions.
  • Manage project risk through comprehensive mitigation assessment and planning techniques.
  • Actively manage the work efforts of multiple functional resources through the project plan.
  • Establish basic scope control procedures.
  • Develop documentation; monitor and report project status; assess the effectiveness and accuracy of documentation.
  • Initiate and maintain reporting relationships with project stakeholders to coordinate efforts across multiple business units.
  • Analyze and report project status and research information; monitor project performance to maintain quality of services, deliverables, and content.
  • Assist in directing both internal and external resources to achieve business solutions within project guidelines.
  • Respond to operational issues and RFIs while progressing on project work.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other project managers and leaders to coordinate cross-project initiatives and activities.
  • Identify and eliminate obstacles to solution plans, business goals, or implementation.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of contingency plans.
  • Assist in the development of project budgets in compliance with the company's financial practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Project Manager.
  • Large-scale infrastructure experience, including deployed servers, migrations, and data center build-outs.
  • Experience with data center connectivity.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree (4-year degree) required.
